Drone Of The Dragonfly

About this event

After two critically acclaimed vinyl releases, Drone of the Dragonfly are ready with their third album, due for release in April 2027 on Vinyltroll-Records. At the BETA show, there will be an opportunity to pre-order the album. On 'Drone of the Dragonfly III', the band further develops its distinctive sound. The classic rock setup of guitars, bass and drums is expanded with an extensive array of percussion instruments and the Turkish saz baglama, adding a distinctive sense of melancholy to the music. In recent years, Drone of the Dragonfly have established themselves as one of the most original acts on the Danish underground scene. The band's music occupies a fascinating space between stoner, drone and psychedelic rock, where heavy grooves and massive beats meet Middle Eastern textures and atmospheric soundscapes. Audiences can expect ethereal drones, melodic basslines, catchy guitar themes driven by insistent, post-punk-inspired drums and, not least, compelling vocals as the band presents both familiar songs and new material from the forthcoming album. Drone of the Dragonfly consists of vocalist Bo Morthen Petersen (On Trial, Black Seagull), bassist Michael Ziegler (Hotel Hunger), guitarist Rasmus Lyng Sørensen (Drukner), drummer Carsten Bott, and Carsten West Palm (Kalashnikov, President Fetch) on saz baglama, guitar and drones.
